Oct. 16, 2024 – Giving to others helps you grow.
That is a message of wisdom from Judge Mary Triggiano, the 2024 recipient of the Wisconsin Law Foundation's
Charles L. Goldberg Distinguished Service Award from the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
Triggiano, a judge and chief judge for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court for nearly 20 years, is now the director of the Andrew Center for Restorative Justice at Marquette University Law School.
She received the Goldberg award at the Law Foundation's Fellows Dinner on Oct. 10 at Wisconsin Country Club in Milwaukee. The award recognizes a lifetime of service to the profession and the community.
“Thank you for this incredible honor and for your continued dedication to the advancement of justice,” Judge Triggiano said. “The work the Law Foundation does to support our profession is invaluable, and I am deeply grateful to be recognized as part of this mission.”

The Wisconsin Law Foundation: Strong Thanks to Your Support
The
Wisconsin Law Foundation is the charitable arm of the State Bar of Wisconsin, supporting law-related education and public service programs statewide. “I am proud to report that the state of your Wisconsin Law Foundation is strong and growing,” said Fran Deisinger, president of the
Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
"That growth during this past year has allowed us to grant $90,000 to positively impact our state by funding charitable and educational programs that promote citizen comprehension of the law, improve the administration of justice, and provide law-related public service," said Deisinger.
Belle Case La Follette 2024 Award Recipients Honored
Among the Foundation's awards are the Belle Case La Follette Awards, given to three recent law school graduates who represent people whose legal needs have been historically unmet, clients who are underserved, or those in rural areas with limited access to legal service. These recipients were honored at the event on Oct. 10. The 2024 recipients are:
Morgan Tomczyk, Morning Glory Law, Eagle River;
Liliana Anja-Marie Anderson, Exquisitely Legal LLC ; and
Travis Nathaniel Hasteen Nez, Colorado River Indian Tribes, Parker, Arizona.

31 New Fellows
The night also celebrated 31 new members of the
Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation.
Membership in the Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation is considered a professional honor and evidence of professional distinction. The program honors State Bar of Wisconsin members who have achieved significant accomplishments in their careers and contributed leadership and service to their communities. The Fellows membership is limited to 2.5% of the State Bar's total membership, and new members are nominated by current Fellows.
The program supports the mission of the Wisconsin Law Foundation, the State Bar of Wisconsin's charitable and educational arm that promotes public understanding of the law, improvement of the administration of justice, and other law-related public service through funding of innovative and creative programs that improve the vision of the American justice system.

Who Are Wisconsin Law Foundation Fellows?
Membership in the Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation is considered a professional honor and evidence of professional distinction. The Fellows membership is limited to 2.5% of the State Bar's total membership.
In 1999, Wisconsin Law Foundation President G. Lane Ware announced the formation of the Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. The Foundation's Board of Directors elected four Board of Trustees officers to organize the Fellows, and the inaugural class of Fellows was inducted in 2000. The first President of the Fellows was Truman Q. McNulty, whose inspiration and creative energy made the development of the Fellows possible.
The Fellows organization was created as a special means to honor State Bar of Wisconsin members who have achieved significant accomplishments in their careers and contributed leadership and service to their communities. In addition to this recognition, the Fellows aims to energize its members to continue their efforts in the promotion of justice, advancement of the profession, and improvement of legal education.
Fellows should be lawyers, reserve or retired judges, or teachers of law who are members of the State Bar of Wisconsin in good standing and who are recognized in the legal profession for outstanding attainment in professional, public, or private careers, and for their devotion to the welfare of their community, state, and nation as well as the advancement of the legal profession.
